The NES currently runs the central NES INCA-2 Monitoring service. INCA is a flexible framework for the automated testing, benchmarking and monitoring of Grid systems. Some of the main features include:

• Easy to manage and gather data using INCA GUI interface, Incat.
• INCA component communicates using SSL protocol.

GridPP uses the NAGIOS Monitoring service for testing services at the user level, which is similar to INCA. Some prominent features of NAGIOS are:

• Detailed status information obtainable through web interface.
• Ability to monitor application, services, operating systems, network protocols and infrastructure with a single tool.
